3rd  Annual SPP2419 HyCAM Doctoral Workshop

The 3rd SPP2419 HyCAM Doctoral Workshop took place on May 20–21, 2026, at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, bringing together doctoral researchers in combustion and Additive Manufacturing.
The workshop provided an excellent platform for young researchers to exchange ideas, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and discuss emerging research directions at the interface of artificial intelligence and energy systems. Through interactive sessions and scientific discussions, participants had the opportunity to connect across disciplines and expand their methodological perspectives.
Highlights of the workshop included:
  • Participants had inspiring poster presentations on ongoing research by SPP 2419 HyCAM Priority Program doctoral candidates, as well as interactive networking and discussion formats that foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among all three sub-projects.
  • A keynote lecture by Dr. Martina Beyrau on “AI in Scientific Research: Methods, Tools, and Good Scientific Practice”, providing valuable insights into modern AI-supported research methodologies and responsible scientific practice
  • A workshop by Prof. Alberto Procacci and M. Sc. Chiara Novelli on “Application of Machine Learning to Energy Systems: Reduced Order Models”, demonstrating innovative machine learning applications for energy-related systems
The two-day event featured engaging scientific exchange, lively discussions, and valuable networking opportunities, further strengthening the interdisciplinary spirit of the SPP2419 HyCAM community.
We sincerely thank all participants, organizers, and invited speakers for their contributions and enthusiasm, which made the 3rd Doctoral Workshop a highly successful and inspiring event.
